I remembered my name and that I was on vacation and that was about it. [ yeah. bad. nothing about his actual life or about the deaths or the people here. ]
Tell me about it... [ he's still kind of :tails: about it despite going right back to work. ] But it wore off. If I had to estimate, it was about twenty-four hours? Maybe a little more than that. It wore off of Ema first but it wasn't that much ahead of me. I think the more time we were alive and the more we talked to people, that unlocked something. But it's just a theory.
Yeah. Riptides aren't exactly the most forgiving thing in the world. But none of us knew that would be the result of dying again. Good information to have, I guess, but... kinda would've preferred finding out another way.
Yeah, well. [ that had been a thought but this was still bad. ]
The good thing is nobody died overnight. The bad thing is, I have no idea where we're supposed to go from here now that you guys are on this side. [ speaking of, hang on. ] Wait, how did you get here anyway?
Are you okay? I mean besides the obvious, no lingering side effects or other injuries or anything? I didn't think that city could even be touched by natural disasters. [ he and ema were just talking about this same thing a few days ago. ]
[ there's a little wince. right. that was... a thing that was happening in kiruko's version of the world. ]
I don't even know if any of us have thought to check the TV at all since you got here. That might be something to do tomorrow. [ he says tomorrow because he's still trying to ease into letting his brain work. but there's a look of relief there. ]
I'm glad though. It's a little creepy how everything heals as soon as you wake up, but it's probably for the better. [ considering how a lot of them died. ] Some of us have been trying to figure out why this place is so focused on everything being perfect, even with all of the death happening.
Yeah, and especially how the robots are always so quick to be on the scene to clean up after the deaths and reset the areas like nothing happened. [ but oh, right. ]
You probably haven't had much of a chance to look around, but there's a monitor over at the bar that was streaming footage of the city. While people were over here, they could see everything people were doing over there. A lot of them saw what happened last Saturday. [ the trial. ]
[ give him a second to pack up his notes and scoot out of the booth to head out of the restaurant and casino. zipline their way back to the resort... wheee! it's pretty easy to navigate their way back to the bar, and as he approaches he gestures to the large monitor.
on screen, the image appears to be a completely wrecked city though the image appears frozen. ]
... I'm not surprised nobody survived. [ it's a factual little comment, but damn. can't believe he missed that. ]

Okay, whew. I was trying to think of how to ask if you were normal again or not. What the heck happened with you?

I'm fine. I didn't think something like that would happen, but dying twice is apparently possible. I... didn't remember anything when we came back.

But whatever happened, it wore off. Right?

What happened to you guys, anyway, that you ended up like that? Another freak accident or something?

Guess it is good to know, though... just in case things start going south again.

... Think I'm okay, though. Nothing hurts, and my old injuries are just... gone.
[ as is probably obvious from the lack of a big-ass face-bruise. ]

So we can go see how it looks now?
no subject
Yeah, everything public. Not the murders though, which is even weirder. I guess we could go and look now though, yeah. The monitor's still there.
